                          Overview

Itinerary Summary: 

Two nights before your departure
  • 6:00pm/7:00pm: Briefing at your hotel in Cusco with your Tour Guide

Day 1: Cusco - Urubamba - Pumahuanca -            

          Cuyoc
  • Early morning pick up from hotel at 5.30 am
  • Transfer to Pumahuanca (Starting Point of the Trek) by private transportation 2,950 mts/9,676 ft
  • Start hiking the Lares Trek
We will see on the way up to the camping site a great variety of ecosystems from the valley to the puna . Observing on the way up the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the towns of Maras and Moray. And the chance to see llamas, alpacas, the great local flora and fauna
  • Lunch at Paccha
  • Camping in Cuyoc – 4,200 mts/13,776 ft

                    Walking Distance: 12 km/7.5 mls
                    Walking time: 8 hours


Day 2 : Cuyoc - Choquekillka Pass - Lares Hot     

            Spring
  • 5.30am: Wake up call/breakfast
  • Survive the highest pass on the way to Lares Valley ( Choquekillka Pass 4,800 mts/15,744 ft
With amazing views and differents ecosystem, flora and fauna which change according to the alttitude, on the way down to the campsite , we can see llamas, alpacas, begonias, orchids, meeting local people who are used to dressing very traditionally and much more
  • Lunch at Cuncany Community at 1.30 pm aprox.
  • Camping in Lares Hot Spring (3,350 mts/10,988 ft)
After many hours hiking in the mountain, the Lares hot spring (Thermomedicinal waters) is a nice campsite to relax our sore bodies

                     Walking Distance: 16 km/9.92 mls
                     Walking time: 11 hours

Day 3 : Lares Hot Spring – Ollantaytambo –

            Km. 104(Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu  
  • 7 or 8.00 am: Wake up call/breakfast
  • 4:00am: Pick up from hotel   
  • 4 hours transfer to Ollantaytambo station (private transportation) 
  • 7.29 am: Train to KM 104 (starting point of trek) 
  • 9:30 am: Hiking to Machu Picchu (visit Chachabamba, Winay Wayna, Sun Gate and Machu Picchu)
  • 5:00 pm: Bus to Aguas Calientes (where dinner will be provided and overnight stay at a hotel

Day 4 : Machu Picchu “Sacred City” – Cusco
  • 5:00am: Breakfast at hotel
  • 5:00am: Transfer to Machu Picchu City (by bus: 25 min or hiking: 1hour and 25min) 
  • 2 hour tour of Machu Picchu City
  • Free time to explore the city on your own (optional: climbing Wayna Picchu mountain or Machu Picchu depending on availability)  
  • Bus back to Aguas Calientes from Machu Picchu
  • Evening: Train back to Ollantaytambo from Aguas Calientes 
  • Bus to Cusco from Ollantaytambo (dropped off at your hotel or acommodation)

  • End of trek
