Working Together to Support Our Community
For Peru Adventure People, an issue close to our hearts is the welfare of local people. Many people in this city earn extremely low wages and live in poverty. Our company was founded on the principal, "While you are live, make history." Our legacy is to improve the lives of people in Cusco.
Our company uses part of your payment for these treks in order to provide donations to several organizations in Cusco, including orphanages and elderly homes. Supplies provided depend on the needs of the homes at the time, but typically include: clothes, medicine, hygiene products, and food.
We provide monetary donations to street vendors, which promotes local economy and supports some of the lowest-paid people in our country. Additionally, our employees are offered opportunities to volunteer with locals. Volunteer projects typically involve construction or home renovation.
Finally, we are dedicated to maintain local employees. These locals provide excellent service to you by acting as porters or horsemen for our treks. These people live in the mountains, and depend on employment from tour agencies in order to support their families. The difference between our company and others you may encounter, is that our porters/horsemen receive high-wages and exceptional accommodations.
